Intelligent Motion Technology Uses Wireless Signals, Mesh Monitoring and Machine Learning to Provide Home Monitoring and Automation
CEDIA, San Diego, CA – September 5, 2017 – Today, Cognitive Systems Corp. announced a new version of Aura, a home monitoring system that allows users to easily monitor movement and activity directly from their smartphone. Aura first launched earlier this year and has expanded its intelligent motion technology that uses the disruption of wireless signals to detect motion.
The new version of Aura is an expandable Beacon based system that monitors motion in the home. With three or more Beacons, Aura can locate motion in the home, use mesh motion sensing, and can even learn about your pets’ movement – so you can keep an eye on your home while you’re away. Aura will also now integrate with other smart home devices so you can use motion to automate your lights, control your climate or integrate with your favorite voice assistant.
“Now Aura brings even more control and peace of mind to homeowners with an expanded feature set,” said Taj Manku, CEO and Co-Founder of Cognitive Systems. “These new features offer more insights into activity in the home allowing users to stay connected while they are away, and automate their smart devices when they’re home.”
The new version of Aura offers a Starter Kit, including a Hub and a Beacon that cover 700 square feet for $199. Accessory Beacons can be added to the system for $99 to unlock additional exciting features. Up to 3 Accessory Beacons can be added to 1 Starter Kit.
The technology powering Aura is unique – Cognitive Systems owns the entire IP stack, from the custom designed silicon chipset that enables the real-time collection and processing of radiofrequency (RF) data, to the patented algorithms layered onto the chip that are used to detect and identify WiFi disturbances caused by movement, to the artificial intelligence and machine learning technology that allows Aura to continually learn about your home.
Aura also offers IFTTT integration so users can connect the system with other smart home products, creating a customized smart home experience. Aura is managed using the free smartphone app available from the Apple App Store and on Google Play. The app provides users with an easy way to view live motion, motion history, activity updates of known members, and includes controls that allow users to set up to 5 different scenes.
The Aura Starter Kit will be available for sale this fall on aurahome.com and amazon.com for $199, with Accessory Beacons available for $99. ### For more information, high-res images or to request a review unit, please contact:
