Cognitive Systems Corp. has announced that its Aura WiFi Motion technology is now a standard option for products developed on Qualcomm's Mesh Networking Platform. The technology enables advanced motion detection without requiring design changes or additional hardware. Initially available in Cognitive Systems' own Aura smart home monitoring solution, the technology uses radio frequency (RF) motion algorithms and machine learning to monitor homes without cameras. The collaboration will allow millions of existing and future connected devices using Qualcomm's Mesh Networking Platform to incorporate Aura's motion detection for enhanced smart home insights and controls. The technology will be demonstrated at CES 2018.

Cognitive Systems Corp., Plume, and Qualcomm Technologies have partnered with Stanley Black & Decker to create the Omni security product. Omni utilizes Cognitive Systems' Aura WiFi Motion technology, Plume's cognitive service curation platform, OpenSync device software stack, and Qualcomm's Mesh Networking Platform. This collaboration aims to offer a self-install security and motion detection system that alerts users to motion without the privacy risks, set-up hassles, or high costs associated with security cameras and sensors. The technology uses radio frequency sensing to detect and interpret WiFi signals, providing accurate motion detection and localization without cameras. Omni is set to be available for purchase in the summer of 2019.
